Wellington Vale in Hampshire is the luxury care home of choice and sets the standard for excellent care, stylish fixtures and wonderful facilities.
It is surrounded by rich history and vibrant culture with the idyllic South Downs on one side, to the other side lies the protected nature reserve of the Denmead Gap. Nearby, and less than 20 minutes away is the historic dockyard city of Portsmouth.
Being part of a community is at the heart of our care and approach. Each floor is named after a famous local landmark, such as the Langstone ground floor which is named after the 18th century Langstone Windmill. The first floor is Solent, named after the strait which separates the Isle of Wight from the mainland. And our Portsdown dementia community is on the second floor, offering breathtaking views of Portsdown Hill and The Forest of Bere.
Bedrooms
Our beautifully appointed bedrooms come fully furnished along with a spacious walk in wet room. We have a selection of ground floor rooms with access to a private patio and the lovely Wellington Vale gardens. Although the rooms are fully furnished including a profiling bed, TV, telephone and WiFi, we do recommend bringing some of your own ornaments and pictures to make it your own home. At Wellington Vale we know that quality bedding is essential for a restful night’s sleep, which is why we offer a selection of bedding and pillow options to suit your personal preferences.
Café
The café is the hub of our care home and is the area which will greet you on entering Wellington Vale. It’s a vibrant social spot where residents and visitors enjoy complimentary hot drinks, refreshments and homemade treats.
Dining
There are dining rooms on all floors where our award-winning chefs prepare a range of meals to suit all tastes, using fresh ingredients based on the time of year. All dining rooms are light and airy with fantastic views whilst our ground floor dining room opens on to the gardens allowing alfresco dining in the summer months.
Resident Lounges
We are blessed with a selection of lounges throughout the care home where our residents can relax or meet up with friends and family. Our residents love to share these spaces by welcoming community groups such as our ‘Little Welly Tots’ toddler fun time. There’s always something going on, whether that’s chess, draughts, dominoes or a fun game of cards, or simply relaxing and enjoying a good book.
Activity Room
This multi-purpose room is a hive of activities. Whether that’s arts and crafts, flowering arranging, learning a new skill, or enjoying a movie, there’s always something happening. This space is also used for private family celebrations and parties, just speak to the team and they will do the rest.
Beauty Salon
At our stylish hair and nail salon, looking your best has never been easier. Who doesn’t love a little pampering? Our expert visiting hair and beauty therapists are dedicated to helping you feel and look like a million dollars. From flawless nails to perfect hair, we ensure every visit leaves you refreshed, confident, and glowing.
Gardens
Everyone enjoys a lovely garden so the team at Wellington Vale ensure they are always looking their best, no matter what the time of year. With level wheelchair friendly paths and plenty of seating areas, the gardens are accessible for all. For those green fingered residents, there are plenty of opportunities to do some gardening, both planting colourful borders or growing herbs and vegetables for the chefs to use.
