Rivermede Court care home in Egham celebrates a superb Gold accreditation from the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS) with a special event during Dementia Action Week, showcasing its approach to exceptional dementia care.

The Egham care home invited NaDCAS representatives to attend the event to formally recognise the home’s Gold status, following a structured assessment of dementia care standards including person-centred care, environment, leadership, emotional wellbeing and staff training.

The accreditation aims to give care providers clear, evidence‑based areas for improvement while recognising outstanding practice already in place. Sam Dondi-Smith, Chief Executive at NaDCAS said: “On behalf of NaDCAS, I am delighted that Rivermede Court have achieved its Dementia Care Accreditation at such a high level. The team has a clear passion for supporting people to live well with dementia and should be very proud of this outstanding award.”

Alongside the accreditation celebration, the home arranged a professional photoshoot for families and residents during the event, courtesy of their care technology partner, Sensio, which supports the team in advancing their dementia care. The photos were offered to families, free of charge, as a way to commemorate the occasion.

Tim Welch, the Customer Success Manager at Sensio, said: “It’s been a pleasure partnering with Cinnamon Care Collection and NaDCAS for this very special event – a great way to celebrate Dementia Action Week, recognise the incredible support for those living with dementia, and highlight the value of bringing care and technology together.”

The event, held during Dementia Action Week has welcomed residents, friends and families to enjoy the photography session, live piano music and an afternoon tea spread. Gavin Pathmarajan, Head of Care & Quality at Cinnamon Care, said: “Hosting the event at Rivermede Court gave us the opportunity to celebrate our latest Gold NaDCAS accreditation, and welcome our residents’ families for a complimentary photoshoot that allowed them to capture special moments together. It was a wonderful celebration of love and community, and one that we’re sure everyone will remember for a long time.”
