Chichester Care Home Achieves Gold Dementia Award

Lakeview Grange is celebrating after achieving Gold accreditation through the National Dementia Care Accreditation Scheme (NaDCAS), recognising significant improvements in its approach to supporting residents living with dementia.

Part of the award-winning Cinnamon Care Collection group, our Chichester care home achieved the accreditation following a revalidation interview with General Manager Shaun Matthews and a subsequent one-day assessment visit. The home achieved an accreditation score of 86.27%, with the assessment highlighting the team’s hard work to enhance its knowledge, skills and approach to dementia care.

The majority of actions identified in the previous assessment were successfully addressed, resulting in an increased accreditation score and demonstrating the team’s commitment to driving improvements and embedding more person-centred practices throughout the home. The assessment also highlighted notable improvements in resident engagement, particularly through the range and accessibility of resources and opportunities available to support meaningful activity and participation.

The team at Lakeview Grange has supported residents with dementia since shortly after the home opened three and a half years ago, with many staff members having been part of the home from its early days. The Gold accreditation will be celebrated with a week of staff appreciation, led by General Manager Shaun Matthews, giving the home an opportunity to recognise the team’s continued commitment and celebrate the progress they have made together.

Shaun Matthews, General Manager at Lakeview Grange, said: “We are incredibly proud to have achieved Gold NaDCAS accreditation and to see the dedication of our team recognised in this way. Our dementia community is a very special part of Lakeview Grange, and our focus is always on creating a happy, safe and stimulating environment where residents can feel supported and at home. It was important to us to celebrate this achievement together and take the opportunity to thank our team for the commitment and care they show our residents every day.”
