British adventurer and three-time Guinness World Records™ title holder Louis Alexander is celebrating his latest record-breaking achievement after setting a new Guinness World Records™ title for the Fastest time to run a marathon distance in all Australian state and territorial capitals (male), completing the challenge in just 6 days, 23 hours and 40 minutes.
The achievement was supported by headline sponsor Cinnamon Care Collection, which has appointed Louis as its first official ambassador as part of a partnership to bring his story of adventure, resilience and purpose to care home residents and communities across the country. Through the partnership, Louis is delivering inspirational talks to residents and communities as he works towards his goal of raising £1 million for dementia research before he turns 30, alongside his continued work as an ambassador for Race Against Dementia.
The 26-year-old completed more than 330km of running between 8th and 15th September 2025, travelling more than 6,000 miles across Australia as he raced against the clock to complete the challenge. His achievement has now been officially verified by Guinness World Records™ on 25th August 2026.
Louis began in Brisbane before travelling through Darwin, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart, finishing in Sydney, where he crossed the Sydney Harbour Bridge before completing the challenge in a park with the Sydney Opera House in the background.
The challenge was entirely self-supported, with Louis responsible for every aspect of the expedition, from nutrition and logistics to collecting the extensive evidence required to verify the record. More than 100 pieces of evidence were submitted to Guinness World Records™, including photographs, video, GPS and heart-rate data, flight logs, travel documents and witness statements from each day.
With no time for recovery between marathons, Louis would complete each 42.2km run in the morning and afternoon before flying to the next city that evening. The relentless schedule meant that even a delayed or cancelled flight could have brought the entire project to an end.
Commenting, Louis said: “This was the toughest physical challenge of my life. Eight consecutive marathons with over 6,000 miles of travel and logistics in between, there was simply no time to recover. Although I completed the final marathon in Sydney last year, being recognised by Guinness World Records™ this week feels like the true finish line. I’m incredibly grateful to Cinnamon Care Collection for supporting me as my Headline Sponsor and helping me share my journey with communities across the country. Now, it’s on to the next challenge – kayaking seven of the world’s deadliest ocean crossings!”
Caitlin Hyem, Official Guinness World Records Adjudicator, said: “Louis’s achievement is an extraordinary feat of endurance, meticulous planning and determination. Completing a marathon distance in all eight Australian state and territorial capitals in under seven days is remarkable in itself, but doing so while managing over 6,000 miles of travel and meeting the extensive evidence requirements needed for verification makes this an incredibly impressive record.”
“We’re delighted to officially recognise Louis with this Guinness World Records title and to be part of another chapter in his record-breaking journey. It’s also wonderful to see him using these extraordinary challenges to draw attention to a cause that is so important to him.”
The achievement marks the latest chapter in Louis’ record-breaking career and his ongoing mission to use extreme endurance challenges to raise awareness and funds for dementia research in memory of his grandfather, Captain Rick Taylor, who served in the British Army for 38 years before facing a 17-year battle with dementia. Louis’ latest achievement follows his previous Guinness World Records™ titles for becoming the first person to complete marathons on all seven continents and swim marathons in all seven seas, and for becoming the first person to run eight consecutive marathons across all eight Australian capital cities.
Carole Hunt, Director at Cinnamon Care Collection, said: “We are incredibly proud to support Louis as he celebrates his third Guinness World Records™ title. His determination, resilience and commitment to raising awareness of dementia research are truly inspiring, and we are delighted to help bring his story and spirit of adventure into our care homes. We look forward to supporting him as he takes on his next incredible challenge later this year.”
But there is little time for Louis to rest. Following his latest achievement, he is preparing to return to the water later this year for the next chapter of his “Trilogy of the Seven”: a world-first attempt to kayak seven of the deadliest ocean crossings on the planet. The expedition, which is expected to begin in autumn 2026, will see Louis navigate more than 200 miles of exposed open water across seven iconic crossings in 12 countries, including the English Channel, North Channel, Strait of Gibraltar, Cook Strait, Singapore Strait, Molokai Channel and Beagle Channel.
