Residents, families and team members come together for a charity fundraiser at Abbotswood Court
A fundraiser held at Abbotswood Court Care Home in Romsey has raised £130 in support of Alfie’s Wish, a Romsey-based charity that helps create special memories and experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families. Residents completed a walk around the care home grounds on a warm day, cheered on by family, friends and staff.
Lea Wintle, general manager at Abbotswood Court, said: “We are incredibly proud of our residents. “Seeing everyone come together, dressed up and enjoying themselves while raising money for such a worthwhile local charity was truly heartwarming.”
Participants wore colourful outfits, waved flags and enjoyed a lively atmosphere.
The fundraiser reflected the strong community spirit and determination of the residents, who were joined by loved ones throughout the afternoon. Supporters encouraged participants and celebrated each other’s achievements.
Abbotswood Court regularly organises activities and events that bring together residents, families and the wider community, and residents are now preparing for their next event, a charity car wash in July.
