Cinnamon Care Collection is proud to congratulate Gavin Pathmarajan, Head of Care and Quality who has been awarded the Queen’s Nurse title by The Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing, QICN.
One of the oldest professional nursing bodies in the UK, the Queen’s Institute of Community Nursing is a leading charity that works to promote the highest standard of nursing care in the community through personal development courses and setting standards for professional standards qualifications.
Formerly known as The Queen’s Nursing Institute, it is also a member of the International Council of Nurses and traces its history back to the early 1960s when it was founded as a training body of District Nurses. From 2007 to present, the title of Queen’s Nurse is a formal recognition of a network of valued nurses, committed to delivering and leading outstanding care in the community.
Meet Gavin
Gavin is a qualified Registered Nurse with a strong clinical background and a commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of our residents at Cinnamon Care Collection. He is supported by a highly skilled team who each brings a unique set of skills to our Care and Quality team.
What does it mean to be a Queen’s Nurse?
The Queen’s Nurse title is not simply an accolade — it’s a formal acknowledgment of a nurse’s dedication to leadership, learning, and the highest standards of patient care in community settings.
- The title is available to nurses, health visitors, and midwives who have worked at least five years in community, primary care or social-care settings.
- It isn’t a qualification or a one-off award — rather, it recognises long-term commitment to delivering holistic, compassionate care; acting as a role model; and contributing to ongoing development and leadership in community nursing.
- As a Queen’s Nurse, one becomes part of a national network of community nurses who share values of excellence in care, continuous learning, and leadership — with access to development programmes, bursaries, networking and professional support.
Having Gavin join the network of Queen’s Nurses is an immensely proud achievement for Cinnamon as a whole, that recognises success and achievement in the individual and is all part of the Cinnamon Difference.
