Known as the ‘Trip Advisor of the care home sector’, it publishes reviews of 16,703 care homes, based on impartial, personal experiences shared by residents, their families and friends.

To put this into perspective with the number of homes in each region, the West Midlands currently has 1,591 care homes, the Yorkshire and Humber region has 1,397, the South East boasting 2,665 homes, and the number of care homes in the London region currently is 1,213.

Review scores on carehome.co.uk are calculated using a combination of the number of reviews, the average of each of the ratings and the size of the care home. Each rating is based on a number of influential factors including quality of care and support, facilities, cleanliness, residents being treated with dignity, food and drink, activities, management, safety/security, accommodation and value for money.
