Watermeadow Grange
MEET OUR TEAM
We’d like to introduce our friendly Watermeadow Grange team who are determined to be the difference in senior care.
At Watermeadow Grange we treat people how we’d like them to treat our loved ones – like family. We understand everyone we look after has their own needs and preferences. So we create care plans which address everything from their individual care provision and dietary requirements to their favourite foods and hobbies. And with great food on the menu every day, each day is a new enjoyable experience.
General Manager
Katherine Stephens
What I Do
As General Manager at Watermeadow Grange, I feel incredibly proud to be part of such a caring and supportive community. My role is to lead the overall day-to-day running of the home, ensuring every resident receives the highest standard of person-centred care within a safe, welcoming and homely environment. Building strong relationships with our residents, families and team is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role, and I truly believe these connections are what make our home so special.
I am passionate about creating an environment where residents feel safe, valued, respected and truly at home. I work closely with our dedicated team to ensure we deliver compassionate, high-quality care while supporting residents to continue living fulfilling and meaningful lives with dignity, companionship and happiness every day.
My Experience
Throughout my 20 year nursing career, I have remained passionate about supporting older people and creating positive experiences for both residents and their families. My experience has given me a strong understanding of the importance of kindness, empathy and person-centred support, and I am committed to leading a team that shares these values.
At Watermeadow Grange, our team is carefully selected not only for their skills and experience, but also for their compassion, warmth and willingness to always go the extra mile to brighten someone’s day. I am proud to lead such a dedicated team who work tirelessly to create a truly supportive and caring environment.
About Me
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and appreciate the importance of creating meaningful moments with the people around us. I bring this same ethos into daily life at Watermeadow Grange, where we are more than just a care home, we are a family.

Home Admissions Advisor
Tanya Williams
What I Do
My name is Tanya and I am a Home Admissions Advisor at Watermeadow Grange. My role is to provide information and support to those looking at moving into care and understanding the options available to them. Choosing the right care home can be a difficult decision to make, whether it is part of future planning or a response to a crisis. It is often a daunting and emotional experience for both prospective residents and their families.
I am here to make the journey as simple and clear as possible, answering any questions you may have and helping to make the process a positive one.
My Experience
Delivering excellent customer service has always been a passion of mine, and I have many years of experience working in the social housing sector. Since 2019, however, I have worked in the luxury care home sector, which has been incredibly rewarding. It has always been a pleasure to be the first point of contact for people making an enquiry.
I strongly believe in treating people in the same way I would expect myself or my family to be treated. A little bit of kindness goes a long way. After relocating to North Devon, I am proud to be working for Watermeadow Grange and continuing in a role I am passionate about, with a company that shares the same values and ethics as I do.
About Me
I relocated from Wiltshire to North Devon with my partner to pursue our self-build dream. We are currently in the process of building our new home, which is both a challenging and incredibly rewarding experience. Seeing our vision gradually become a reality makes all the hard work worthwhile, and much of my spare time is spent on-site helping to bring the project to life.
I also enjoy spending time at the gym and have developed a passion for strength training. Not only does it help me stay fit and healthy, but it certainly comes in handy when there’s lifting, carrying, and all the other physical jobs that come with a self-build project!
I have two grown-up children and am incredibly lucky to have two gorgeous young granddaughters, who keep me smiling.
Home Admissions Advisor
Carey O’Connor
What I Do
My name is Carey and I am a Home Admissions Advisor at Watermeadow Grange. I am often one of the first people a prospective resident or their family will speak to when they begin considering care.
I know that looking for a care home can come at a time when there is already a lot to think about. Sometimes families are planning ahead, while at other times circumstances have changed very quickly. My role is to listen, understand what is important to you and your family, answer your questions honestly and help make the whole process feel as straightforward and reassuring as possible.
For me, it is about much more than choosing a room or arranging a move; it is about helping someone find a place where they can feel safe, comfortable and genuinely at home.
My Experience
Before joining Watermeadow Grange, I worked within adult social care for Devon County Council, supporting people and their families following a hospital admission and helping to plan the right care and support for them when leaving hospital.
I have also previously worked specifically with families searching for care homes, so I understand both the practical and emotional sides of making this decision. That experience has given me a real appreciation of how individual every person’s circumstances are and how important it is that families feel listened to, informed and never pressured.
I love being able to bring that experience to Watermeadow Grange and to support families from their very first conversation with us through to welcoming someone into their new home.
About Me
Outside of work, life is usually busy! I live with my husband, Alex, and our family, and we are currently at the exciting stage of starting to design and build our own home, so I am sure that will be keeping us very busy for some time to come!
When we are not thinking about house plans, we love getting to the beach and spending time at our beach hut – one of our favourite places to relax and enjoy time together as a family.
I am naturally a people person and love being part of the local community, something which carries over into my role at Watermeadow Grange. I particularly enjoy organising events and finding new ways to bring people from the local community into the home – usually with plenty of coffee, cake and conversation involved!

Maintenance Manager
Jon Marlay
What I Do
As part of the Maintenance Team at Watermeadow Grange, I take pride in helping to ensure our home is safe, comfortable and beautifully maintained. My role is varied and can involve everything from day-to-day repairs and routine maintenance to keeping our facilities running smoothly.
One of the best parts of my role is spending time with our residents. I really enjoy getting to know them, having a chat while I’m working around the home and being someone they know they can call on when they need a helping hand. I’ve built some great relationships with our residents, and I think it’s fair to say the feeling is mutual!
My Experience
I have spent my working life in the building trade and have a wealth of practical experience across many different areas. I also previously ran my own building company, which gave me extensive experience in managing projects, problem-solving and finding practical solutions. I’ve always enjoyed working with my hands and taking pride in a job well done, so maintenance is a natural fit for me.
About Me
Outside of work, family is very important to me and I’m very much outnumbered in a family full of girls! I enjoy keeping active and regularly go to the gym, and I’m also a keen poker player.
I’m a big fan of ribs and wings and, when the weather allows, you’ll often find me happily in charge of the BBQ. For me, there’s nothing better than good food and spending time with family.
