Local dignitaries and our community joined our Merriman Grange team for a fabulous Open Day, with local MP Tom Rutland, The Mayor of Worthing, Councillor Ibsha Choudhury and Bob Smytherman, the Town Crier.
Named after the late, much-loved local consultant and surgeon George Dickson, it was a great pleasure to officially open the Dickson’s café to honour Mr Dickson, who previously lived on the site which is now Merriman Grange.
During the day Year 6 pupils from Broadwater CE Primary got involved by burying time capsules, with memos to their future-self and to mark the spot for future generations.
Commenting on the event, Jan Marples, Merriman Grange, Home Admissions Advisor, said “We have been made so welcome here and are excited to show off this luxury new care facility that we hope will become a home-from-home for many from the surrounding communities. At Cinnamon, our ethos is living life to the full, and we look forward to launching an exciting programme of events and activities for our residents when we open this Spring.”
Guests were treated to a fantastic live performance by the Worthing Rock Choir, u3a Ukulele Band, and Andy’s Angels Intergenerational Choir, with an exhibition of local history given by the Findon Valley Residents Association.
