We celebrate National Befriending Week with Carers Trust Solihull

This week, from the 1st to 7th November we join with all our friends to celebrate National Befriending Week, an event which aims to raise awareness around the importance of befriending and the impact it has on individuals in helping eliminate the feelings of isolation and loneliness.

What better than for the Carers Trust Solihull to come and join us at Eastcote Park luxury care home for a splendid afternoon tea, make new friends and celebrate the fantastic work they do to support individual carers around the community.

As an independent charity, Carers Trust Solihull get involved in invaluable projects to support young carers and adults, whose lives have been affected by caring for a family member or a friend. One such project is offering to become a ‘Befriender’ and being a non-judgmental friend, who is always ready to listen and help. The help might be to simply listen and let the person ‘talk out’ all the emotional strain that comes with looking after a loved on. Or it may mean helping to arrange fun activities for the carer and their loved one to participate in.

We had a fabulous day meeting the volunteer carers, befrienders and trustees from Carers Trust Solihull, a charity that plays such as a pivotal role in the heart of our community.
