The NACC awards are the benchmark for the care industry and are seen as the MasterChef accolade of care home catering, bringing together the best chefs from across the UK.

Nigel Cook from Eastcote Park and Daniel Bree from Hartwood care homes have won the regional cook offs for the Midlands and South-East and are now in the running for the finals to be held on 3rd October.

One lucky competition Winner will be crowned Care Chef of the Year 2023 for the whole of the UK.

Nigel’s winning main course was pan-fried hake with potato scales and a spicy coconut sauce, crispy kale, pickled cucumber and cherry tomatoes. His dessert was beetroot bakewell tart with ginger crème fraiche.

Nigel Cooke said, “I never thought I would win the regional heat! The standard was so high and improves every year. There was such a high calibre of chefs, all producing some amazing dishes. I am incredibly proud to have been selected as a finalist and to represent Cinnamon Care Collection and its Eastcote Park care home.”
