Chris Roby

Home Admissions Advisor

What I do
I am very fortunate to be working in a position where meeting with families and talking to people from all walks of life, is an everyday occurrence. Conversations are fascinating and insightful, and sharing in these is what life at Wellington Vale is all about.

I can offer support to families during the decision-making process, which can make the move into care much smoother, and settling in a little bit easier. I can also connect families to services offered by the wider community, offering support and guidance every step of the way.

Experience
I have taken many experiences from many different people and events throughout my career and life. Before finding my path in the care industry, I ran my own small business, worked in global banking, and received a degree from the University of Winchester.

About me
I enjoy sports a lot, keeping fit in mind and body. I also enjoy spending quality time with my wife, seeing friends, and of course, finding a fine, traditional, old English pub to enjoy a night by the fire.

Muriel Rauzet

Administrator

What I do
I am really pleased and excited to be a part of Wellington Vale’s team. I felt really privileged to be involved in the recruitment alongside our General Manager. My role as an administrator is to provide support to all the departments and the residents within the care home.

Experience
My qualification as an Accounts Assistant and my experience as an Administration Manager have given me the knowledge and skills to assist with any requirements. 

About me
I am a working mum so I enjoy spending my spare time with my daughter and also like to run as a personal hobby, keeping myself active.

Karen Oliver

Clinical Manager

What I do
I am inspired to ensure that the highest standard of care is provided by our team for the resident’s in a luxury environment.  I bring with me both clinical experience and managerial which allows me to support the nursing and caring staff on all the floors. I work closely with my team who will always go the extra mile to ensure we are able to enhance the lives of our residents.

Experience
In my late teens, I qualified as a chef and worked in the catering industry for 15 years. I followed on with my nurse training.
I am a qualified nurse specialist practitioner with over 18 years of experience in a variety of clinical and managerial fields. I have a Registered mMnagers award that I studied for in Wales. A BSc Hons in Public Health and District Nursing and an extended and supplementary nurse prescribing qualification. I am passionate about learning and really believe you learn new things every day.
I believe I can bring solid experience and a strong skill set to support the residents and staff in the home. 

About me
I have many interests and hobbies with my main passion being my three dogs. I love the beaches and countryside where I live, enjoy travelling and all types of sewing. I really enjoy spending time with family and friends and think laughter is the best medicine. 

Gary Blagden

Maintenance Manager

What I Do
As head of maintenance at Wellington Vale it is my duty to maintain all services from electrical/mechanical, drainage, internal and external fixtures and fittings. As new residents arrive you will find me busy hanging personal pictures and photographs on walls, this I find helps settle the resident into the home.

Experience
I have had many years in the maintenance trade which has been largely electrical and mechanical but I also have a vast knowledge in DIY skills.  Before coming to Wellington Vale I was Head of Maintenance at a local Dementia Home where I found it an honour and privilege to know the residents and the care staff. 

About me
I am very family orientated and love spending time with my daughters and grandchildren, I am a big supporter of our local football team and endeavour to visit and watch home games as much as I can.  My biggest passion is holidaying abroad especially when we go as one big happy family.

Breda O’Doherty

Activities Coordinator

What I do
I am the Activity Coordinator at Wellington Vale and my role is composing activities and events for the residents that are inclusive, enjoyable and exciting. I liaise within the local community, arranging community events within the home and visits to outside events too – this helps to promote a social network for our residents. My role includes activity plans based on well-being, mental stimulation, physical well-being and, of course, the most important ingredient: fun. 

Experience 
I am a qualified teacher and trainer with many years’ experience organising events and charity fundraisers. I have worked in care in the community and been a carer e. I have acquired skills from many areas including hospitality, customer support, finance, administration, and the most recent being an entertainment company I set up which required creativity, planning and organisational skills.

About me
I am a family orientated person who enjoys spending time with friends and family. I am currently in the middle of composing a novel and I enjoy learning new skills on my days off.
