What I do:
I am the General Manager of Wellington Vale, as such I have the overall responsibility of the home with the support from my team. My role can vary from day to day and no two days are ever the same .
I have been working in the care industry for over 30 years, starting as a care assistant then going back to further education to become a manager first for Suffolk County Council and then into the private sector. I have a passion for Dementia care and hold an advanced Dementia training qualification in addition I have a Dementia mapping qualification which I undertook with Bradford University.
I am 55 and have been married for over 30 years to Adrian a teacher, I have two sons Tim and Tom both currently studying at university. I am a highly competitive person who likes to succeed. I love to shop and find a bargain!
What I do:
I am the Support Services Manager of Wellington Vale, responsible for the hospitality departments in the home. Since joining this amazing team at Cinnamon my daily aim is to deliver the best person centred care to all our residents and daily to see the smiles on residents faces as they feel at home in our Care Homes.
I’ve been living in UK for 7 years now progressing my career as Hospitality Services Manager that forms part of the Support Services Function. I work closely with the Care & Quality Team and I absolutely love what I do, helping to consistently deliver an outstanding service that the residents deserve.
I am Portuguese, from Madeira island. I am the mother of twins; a boy and a girl that are two years old which are my bundles of joy.
We love to travel and spend time with family and friends.
As Home Admissions Advisor my main responsibility is to guide both residents and their families through the difficult decision and process of deciding on a Residential Care Home that best suites each individuals needs. I take great pride in ensuring that Wellington Vale offers the best choice in terms of Care Options, Activities and Entertainment, Daily Menu, beautifully appointed rooms and a welcoming team. I am always happy to support the residents, the families and the team at Wellington Vale.
My career began in the Hospitality industry and then expanded into Events, Marketing, Sales and PR. Prior to joining Wellington Vale, Cinnamon Care Collection I worked within the Private Ambulance Sector for over a decade as a Registered manager.
My passion outside of work is caring for and showing my dogs. I have achieved fabulous awards at conformation competition in the past few years in the UK and Europe, including gaining an International Title. I live in the New Forest National Park with my husband who shares my fondness for the outdoor life with our dogs, rare breed chickens, fish and cat!
I am the Activity Co-ordinator at Wellington Vale, and my role is to compose activities and events for the residents that are inclusive, enjoyable and exciting. I liaise within the local community, arranging community events within the home and visits to outside events too – this helps to promote a social network for our residents. My role includes activity plans based on well-being, mental stimulation, physical well-being and, of course, the most important ingredient: fun.
I am a qualified teacher and trainer with many years’ experience organising events and charity fundraisers. I have worked in care in the community and been a Carer. I have acquired skills from many areas including hospitality, customer support, finance and administration. The most recent was an entertainment company I set up which required creativity, planning and organisational skills.
I am a family orientated person who enjoys spending time with friends and family. I am currently in the middle of composing a novel and I enjoy learning new skills on my days off.
What I do:
I am the Head Chef here at Wellington Vale my role is to provide a nutritional balanced diet to our residents with the odd sneaky treat thrown in.
I liaise with our residents with likes and dislikes even if that person wants something different to what’s on the menu, we will do our utmost to make it possible.
My team and I aim to please and provide a whole dining experience.
I have been a chef for almost 30 years predominantly within the Royal Navy feeding personnel on ships and land with a couple members of the royal family thrown in for good measure. Competed in BBC’s MasterChef: The Professionals in 2010, Lead Chef for HRH The Queen’s lunch onboard HMS Ark Royal, Lead Chef for HRH Duke of Edinburgh’s 90th Birthday Lunch and recently was awarded Cinnamon Care Collection Chef of The Year 2019.
Married to Elizabeth we enjoy city breaks where we can relax and enjoy the local cuisine.
