Joanne Hughes

What I Do

My name is Joanne, and I am the General Manager at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

I am responsible for leading our dedicated team and ensuring every resident receives the highest standards of care in a warm, welcoming and supportive environment. I believe every person is unique, and it’s important that we take the time to understand each resident’s individual needs, preferences and life story so they can continue to live a happy and fulfilling life.

Supporting residents and their families is a real privilege, and I’m passionate about creating a home where people feel safe, valued and truly cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.

My Experience

I am a qualified nurse with over 30 years’ experience in health and social care, including 20 years working within the NHS, specialising in palliative care. For the last 10 years, I have held senior leadership roles within the care sector, managing both nursing homes and retirement villages.

Earlier in my career, I successfully led a nursing home that achieved an Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), something I am incredibly proud of. Throughout my career, my focus has always been on delivering exceptional care, supporting colleagues to be the very best they can be and creating environments where residents can thrive.

Joining Cinnamon Care Collection to lead the opening of Thurnby Fields is an exciting new chapter. I have been incredibly impressed by the support the company provides to its teams and the genuine commitment to placing residents at the heart of everything we do. It is a privilege to be part of bringing this beautiful new home to the local community.

About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, including my four children. I’m also a keen sports fan and particularly enjoy watching football whenever I get the chance.

I feel incredibly fortunate to work in a profession where every day brings the opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives, and I look forward to welcoming residents and their families to Thurnby Fields.

Santosh Kaur

What I Do

My name is Santosh Kaur, and I am the Deputy Manager at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

As Deputy Manager, I work closely with our Home Manager and care team to ensure every resident receives the highest standard of person-centred care. I am passionate about making a positive difference to people’s lives and supporting colleagues to build the confidence and skills they need to deliver outstanding care. One of the things I love most about my role is that no two days are ever the same.

My Experience

I have worked in the care sector for 25 years, beginning my career as a Care Assistant before progressing through a variety of roles, including Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.

Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience leading teams, supporting residents with a wide range of care needs and creating environments where people feel safe, respected and valued. Joining Thurnby Fields is an exciting opportunity to be part of opening a brand-new home and helping to build a caring and compassionate team from the very beginning.

About Me

Outside of work, my family is the most important part of my life and I enjoy spending as much time with them as possible. I also love reading, travelling whenever I get the opportunity and following Formula 1 throughout the racing season.

Although I am new to Thurnby Fields, everyone has made me feel incredibly welcome and supported. It is exciting to be part of the team as we prepare to welcome our very first residents, and I look forward to helping create a home where people can truly thrive.

Claire Paylor

What I Do

My role is to support individuals and families who are considering a move into care and help them understand the options available. Finding the right care home can be a difficult and emotional decision, whether it is part of future planning or the result of a sudden need for care. My role is to guide you through the process with compassion and understanding, providing clear information, answering your questions, and helping you make confident decisions that are right for you and your loved ones.

My Experience

Before joining the care sector in 2024, I built my career in Human Resources, Corporate Relations, and Admissions within the independent school sector. These roles provided me with extensive experience in supporting individuals and families, building relationships, and delivering exceptional customer service.

About Me

I enjoy spending quality time with my family, entertaining friends, and discovering new restaurants. I also love travelling, particularly to Australia, where two of my three grown up children now call home.

Claire Hoyles

What I Do

My name is Claire, and I am the Home Admissions Advisor at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

My role is to provide information, guidance and reassurance to anyone considering care for themselves or a loved one. I understand that choosing a care home is one of the biggest decisions a family will ever make and that moving into a new home can feel just as emotional and daunting for relatives as it does for the resident.

Whether you’re planning ahead or need support following a change in circumstances, I’m here to answer your questions, explain the options available and guide you through every step of the journey. My aim is to make the process as straightforward, reassuring and positive as possible, so you can make the right decision with confidence.

My Experience

I have worked in the health and social care sector for over six years, supporting older people and their families. Before joining Cinnamon Care Collection, I worked for Home Instead Doncaster, where, during the Covid-19 pandemic, I trained and worked as a Care Professional, supporting people to remain independent in their own homes. That experience gave me a real appreciation of the difference compassionate care can make, not only to the person receiving it but also to the people who love them.

I joined Cinnamon Care Collection in 2023 and was part of the team that successfully opened Outram Fields Care Home in Sheffield. I’m now delighted to be helping introduce Thurnby Fields to the local community and supporting families as they begin the next chapter of their loved one’s journey.

About Me

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors. I grew up on a farm, so I’ve always enjoyed being outside, and that’s something that’s stayed with me. Whether it’s cycling, walking or camping, I love making the most of the fresh air and exploring new places.

I also enjoy spending time with family and friends and getting involved in local community events.

Joel Eabry

What I Do

My name is Joel and I am the Hospitality Supervisor at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

My role is to make sure our residents enjoy a warm, welcoming and high-quality hospitality experience every day. From beautifully prepared dining rooms and attentive service to those small personal touches that make a difference, I want every resident to feel comfortable, valued and well looked after.

For me, hospitality is about much more than serving great food. It’s about getting to know our residents, understanding their individual preferences and creating enjoyable dining experiences that they can genuinely look forward to.

My Experience

I bring more than 10 years of hospitality experience, having worked across pubs, restaurants and fine dining establishments. For the past two years, I have also worked within the care sector, where I discovered how rewarding it is to combine my passion for hospitality with making a positive difference to the lives of older people.

The service side of hospitality is what I am most passionate about. I take great pride in everything from setting the tables and making sure every detail is just right, to welcoming residents into the dining room and seeing them leave happy after an enjoyable meal.

I’m really excited to be part of Thurnby Fields from the very beginning and to work alongside such a friendly and dedicated team. Together, we have the opportunity to create a home where residents feel welcomed, valued and able to relax and enjoy life. I’m looking forward to helping create a hospitality experience that residents and their families can really enjoy and be proud of.

About Me

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, going to the gym and looking after my ever-growing collection of houseplants. I also love spending quality time with my partner and our Golden Retriever, Daisy, who keeps us active with plenty of long walks.

Whether we’re exploring somewhere new, enjoying the outdoors or simply relaxing at home, I appreciate the simple things in life and making time for the people – and pets – that are important to me.

Joan Owen

What I Do

My name is Joan and I am the Housekeeping Supervisor at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

My role is to lead our housekeeping team and make sure our home is always beautifully clean, comfortable and welcoming for our residents and their families. I take great pride in making sure everything is organised and that the little details are taken care of, helping to create an environment that residents are proud to call home.

For me, housekeeping in a care home is about much more than keeping everything spotless. We spend time in residents’ personal spaces every day, so building relationships, respecting their individual preferences and helping them feel comfortable in their own home is incredibly important.

My Experience

I have eight years of housekeeping experience, including three years as a Head of Housekeeping. My background includes hotel housekeeping, supporting older people to maintain clean and comfortable homes and, for the past four years, working within care homes.

One of the things I enjoy most about working in care is getting to know the residents. I love stopping for a chat and hearing about their lives – from the careers they’ve had and places they’ve travelled to, to their families, interests and the things that are important to them. Those conversations and relationships are a really special part of my role.

I’m excited to be part of Thurnby Fields from the very beginning and to work alongside all the different teams to create a wonderful home for our residents. Having spent time training at other Cinnamon Care Collection homes, I’ve experienced first-hand how friendly and supportive the teams are, and I can’t wait to bring everything I’ve learned to Thurnby Fields.

About Me

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family. I have two boys who keep me very busy, and I enjoy making the most of our time together.

I also enjoy socialising and spending time with friends. I’m naturally a people person, so whether I’m at work or at home, I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by good company.

Krupa Theba

What I Do

My name is Krupa, and I am the Administrator at Thurnby Fields Care Home.

My role is to ensure everything behind the scenes runs smoothly, supporting our residents, their families and our team. From managing the day-to-day administration of the home to assisting colleagues and welcoming visitors, I help create an organised and efficient environment so our care teams can focus on delivering exceptional care.

My Experience

Before joining Thurnby Fields, I worked as an Office Manager within another care home, where I developed strong communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. My experience has helped me become adaptable, reliable and confident in delivering excellent service while building positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues.

What I enjoy most about my role is knowing that the work I do behind the scenes helps ensure our services run smoothly and supports both our staff and the people we care for. I enjoy being organised, solving problems and working as part of a team. It’s rewarding to know that, even in an administrative role, I can make a positive difference to the quality of care our residents receive every day.

What I enjoy most about working at Thurnby Fields is being part of a supportive and friendly team that genuinely cares about both our residents and each other. Knowing that my work helps support the delivery of outstanding care makes every day rewarding.
