What I Do

I am the General Manager at Outram Fields Care Home. I am passionate about providing the highest standards of care and support to the people who choose to live with us and ensure my team operate to the same level. It is a real privilege to care for the residents at Outram Fields and my whole purpose is to ensure that we aim to be the best in everything we provide.

My Experience

I qualified as a Nurse in 1994 in my home town of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and I’m proud to say that my whole career has been in Care, with my first Registered Manager’s post taken in 2002. I am proud to say that during the Covid pandemic, we didn’t lose any of our residents to the virus and kept everyone safe. I was also a founding member of The Caring View, a podcast to support all Managers during the pandemic.

About Me

I moved to Sheffield in 2013 from Mansfield after falling in love with my Yorkshire man. If I’m not at work, I’m at home enjoying cooking a nice meal and relaxing with my adopted black cat. My holidays consist of my caravan, a field and stunning scenery in our beautiful countryside.

Vicky McCann

What I Do

I am proud to be the Deputy Manager at Outram Fields, and I am deeply passionate about delivering the high standard of care that each resident deserves, and I always strive to achieve the best possible outcome for each person. My role combines hands-on involvement with residents and families alongside leadership and guidance for our care team. I oversee day-to-day operations, staff training and compliance, making sure we meet both regulatory requirements and individual needs.

My Experience

With many years’ experience in the care sector, I have worked in care homes since 2016, specialising in dementia care and providing compassionate support to residents while also guiding and reassuring families through what can often be a challenging journey.

To me, working at Outram Fields is never just a job, it’s a privilege. Caring for our residents and supporting them in their personal journey is incredibly rewarding. I am equally committed to mentoring and guiding our care team members, helping them grow in their own careers and ensuring that we, as a team, provide the best possible care to those who need it.

About Me

Outside of work, I’m kept busy by my little girl, who certainly keeps me on my toes! I cherish spending time with my partner, friends, and family. We enjoy dining out, traveling, and making memories together. When I have a moment to relax, you’ll often find me watching reality TV (much to my partner’s amusement) and surrounded by anything pink!

Sam Jameson

What I Do

I am the second Deputy Manager at Outram Fields. I feel incredibly lucky to be here and be part of this amazing home.  I help support an already incredible team here. I have a mix of floor work and office work, which I find suits me down to the ground. I get to know all the residents and families and ensure the highest standards of care at all times, and I support all staff in improving the lives of our residents daily.

My Experience

I have worked in Health & Social Care for over 15 years. During this time, I started as a care assistant and tried my hand at every job in a care home, including stepping in for a maintenance man at one point! I have experience in residential care, dementia and nursing.  I have learnt so much from amazing colleagues and former residents over the years and then strengthened my knowledge with my BSc Hons in Social Science and Criminology through the Open University whilst I worked in a care home. I went on to achieve my Level 5 in Health and Social Care and progressed further in my role into management. I have never lost my resident-first approach and pride myself on having this throughout my career. I thoroughly love my chosen career.

About Me

On my days off, I spend time with my fiancée, our little boy and our dogs. We enjoy little breaks away, and also holidays abroad. My dad learnt to fly glider planes and took me up one day, and it was incredible, so I also now enjoy strapping a parachute on my back and heading up into the clouds without an engine and enjoying the sunsets and the quiet from 5000 feet above the ground! Incredibly peaceful experience!!

Ellice Osborne

What I Do

I work closely with Claire to support individuals, families and friends who are looking for care for themselves or a loved one. From the very first enquiry, through to moving into Outram Fields, I’m here to help guide people through the process and make it feel as smooth, supportive and stress-free as possible.

I understand that choosing the right care home can feel overwhelming and emotional. Having experienced this, myself with my own family, I know how important it is to feel listened to and supported. My aim is to be there every step of the way, offering reassurance, guidance and a friendly face during what can often be a difficult time.

My Experience

My journey into this role has been shaped by both my career and growing up around the care sector. I studied Sociology and Politics at university while working as a Health Advisor for NHS 111.After this, I moved into hospitality, working as a Sales and Events Co-ordinator in a hotel before progressing to Conference, Events and Sales Manager. During this time, I realised how much I enjoy working with people, building relationships and being part of important moments in their lives, which is what eventually led me back to the care sector.

Care has always been a big part of my life. My mum has worked in care since she was 19 and is still at the same home today, so I’ve grown up seeing the dedication and compassion it takes to do this job well. Because of that, I understand how important trust, empathy and honesty are when supporting families through such an important decision.

About Me

When I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me out walking my dog, spending time with my friends and fiancé, or curled up watching a film, I’m a big movie fan. I’ve also always loved musical theatre and have been involved in performing on stage since I was young, so I’ll never say no to a good show tune.

I also have dual nationality with Australia and lived there for a short time when I was younger, which is where my love for adventure and travel really began.

Pierre Mairesse

What I Do

My role is to work alongside the Head Chef and ensure that our residents and visitors get the best hospitality experience at Outram Fields. This may be from a simple cup of coffee with cake, to a 3 course meal with wine in our Private Dining room. I ensure our Café-Bar area is always stocked up ready for our visitors and our Dining Rooms are set to the highest standard and look inviting for our residents.

My Experience

I have been working in hospitality since 2008, including 12 hotels/restaurants in London in a lot of different settings. I am a trained sommelier and cannot wait to share my passion for wine with you all.

About Me

I was born in Dunkerque in France and moved to London in 2011. I love spending time with my son and can’t wait to explore the peak district (I’m still new in Sheffield) with him. I am also really passionate about photography.

Paul Rafferty

What I Do

I am Head of Maintenance  at Outram Fields. My role is to ensure that the home and your stay with us is safe, comfortable and most importantly – an enjoyable experience. Myself and my maintenance assistant are on hand to deliver a service to you of the highest standards in order to meet your specific needs and requirements.

My Experience

I have over 30 years experience working in a maintenance environment with my last 12 years specifically based in a challenging behaviour care home delivering a very person-centred approach to the most vulnerable.

About Me

I am married with 2 young adult girls. My passions are music, art and reading. I have amassed over the years a fairly substantial music collection (cd, vinyl and digital). I also have a love of vintage hi-fi. I run a music/hi-fi club in my village which attracts fellow enthusiasts of all ages. The rest of my time is made up of being a “dad taxi”.

Wendy Curtis

What I Do

Hello I am Head of Housekeeping here at Outram Fields. My role is to maintain the highest standards of cleaning our residents deserve and I have been very selective in recruiting the right team to work alongside me with skills, passion, drive and compassion to make sure all areas are kept clean and sparkling. It is also my responsibility to ensure the laundry is well managed and each resident’s belongings are treated with the utmost care and respect.

My Experience

My background is in the cleaning sector working in 5-star hotels. I have also worked in Surrey in a newly built care home during the pandemic. My passion lies in making a difference and seeing people smile.

About Me

I am a homebody, nothing makes me happier than spending quality time with family, my teenage daughter, partner and two boisterous and stubborn dachshunds. I also love country walks and watching films and documentaries.

Jane Hallsworth

What I Do

I am the Home Administrator at Outram Fields. My role involves administration, financial and recruitment elements. I also enjoy interacting with our residents and hearing all about their lives.

My Experience

I have worked in Customer Services/Administration for over 25 years. These roles have been in a very varied spectrum of organisations, including telecommunications, local police authority and latterly, the care industry.

About Me

In my spare time, I enjoy walking and going out for a nice meal and cooking at home. I also enjoy going to the theatre. I have personally been involved in amateur dramatics since the age of 8 and have done many shows at Sheffield Lyceum and Sheffield City Hall. I began dancing at the age of 5 and was a professional dancer on cruise ships for several years.
