Meet Our Team

We’d like to introduce our friendly Netley Court team who are determined to be the difference in senior care.

Mark Shockledge

General Manager

What I do

Netley Court is a wonderful place to live and work, and I am delighted to be in a position to make a difference to people’s lives. I am passionate about providing the very best care to all of our residents and feel that it is a real privilege to be entrusted to care for your loved ones.

My experience

I count myself fortunate to have gained so much valuable experience. My career in care started many years ago and since the age of 16 I have met, cared for and worked with some amazing people who have taught me so much.

About me

In my spare time I enjoy being active at the gym, dining out, going to the theatre, and spending time with my family and friends up north.

Kathryn Duffell

Home Admissions Adviser

What I do

I feel honoured to be the Home Admissions Adviser for Netley Court; I love helping new people and families every day. My job is to introduce potential new residents to our home and to ensure that Netley Court can provide exactly the right level of individual care they need and deserve.

I know how difficult and emotional these decisions can be and I have great understanding and empathy for all the family members involved once they start this new journey. I aim to make their move from home or hospital to Netley Court as seamless and as stress-free as possible for all concerned.

My experience

I have over seven years’ care sector experience, starting my career as a Domiciliary Care Provider.

About me

Being with my family is how I like to spend my free time, particularly with my grandchildren and dogs. From time to time I test out my gardening and DIY skills.

Laura Price

Deputy Manager

What I do

I was promoted from Dementia Lead to Deputy Manager in December 2016, and I am thoroughly enjoying my new role and the challenges it brings. It is hugely rewarding to be part of a fantastic team and a privilege to help provide excellent person-centred and holistic care.

My experience

I have eight years’ experience in the care industry and began my career as a Care Assistant. I was promoted to Senior Carer and became the Deputy Manager at a residential care home before moving to Netley Court. Although I studied Social Care at University in Southampton and this has been a huge benefit in my job role, my passions lie within the care sector. I was privileged to be a finalist in the 2016 Great British Care Awards.

About me

In my spare time, I like spending time with my friends and family, going to the gym, playing netball and holidaying. My best holiday to date was travelling around Europe on a motorbike!

What I do

It was an absolute privilege to take on this role as I believe the stimulation of the mind body and soul is the key to a happy and contented life. To be challenged with organising and facilitating activities, outings and events for our Residents to enjoy is an amazing experience. I enjoy all aspects of my role and together with my team we are dedicated to delivering varied and stimulating activities each and every day.

Harriet Fricker

Deputy Manager

What I do

I first joined Cinnamon Care in 2016 as a Dementia Manager. In 2017, I was promoted from Dementia Manager to Deputy Manager and I was given the fantastic opportunity to became part of the Netley Court team in September 2018. I am extremely passionate and dedicated to ensuring that each of our residents receive outstanding person-centered, holistic care. I feel very privileged to be able to support our team to consistently go the extra mile, providing high standards of care and to really Make a Difference to the lives of Netley Court’s residents and relatives.

My experience

I have 9 years’ experience within the care industry. I began my career as a Care Assistant within a few Nursing Homes, where I was then promoted to Senior Care Assistant and Team Leader. I also have experience of working within the hospital environment, both NHS and Private. I have a Diploma in Health and Social Care and I began studying Adult Nursing at University. Even though I decided that this was not the path I wanted to follow, I gained a wealth of clinical knowledge and experiences and I quickly knew that my heart and passion lies within Elderly and Dementia Care within the Care Home setting.

About me

When I am not at work, I am a very family orientated person. I enjoy exploring new places and going on weekends away with my partner. One of my favourite trips so far was a road trip to Italy through France and Switzerland with my Dad and one of my brothers to watch the Misano MotoGP. I am currently undergoing my Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Adult Care.

Prior to working in a care environment I worked in accounts for many years. Five years ago I decided on a change of career and became a Care Assistant, eventually moving to Netley Court in my current role 18 months ago. Danny Carter

Head of Maintenance & Housekeeping

What I do

I give all I possibly can to make Netley Court a safe, clean, homely and happy environment for all our residents and staff. I keep Netley Court to a very high standard of cleanliness and make sure that all faults or issues are dealt with quickly with least amount of disruption. My father had early onset Dementia and I know how upsetting and difficult it can be to have to move a relative into a care home. Because of this, I am passionate that I do as much as I possible to ensure that the residents feel comfortable and happy. I love my position at Netley Court and truly feel that the residents and staff become like a family. Netley Court is a wonderful place to live and work.

My experience

I have been in the building trade for over 25 years. I have a great knowledge of my job and Netley Court, and I’m embracing my two roles in Maintenance and Housekeeping in the company. I was the first employee on the Netley Court site and I was responsible for overseeing the handover of the building in 2015.

About me

I am a happy person with a positive outlook on life. I love spending time with my family, I enjoy traveling and I love watching and playing sports. I am a qualified FA coach and I coach an Under-11s football team. It takes up a lot of time, but I enjoy every minute.
