Meet Our Team
We’d like to introduce our friendly Heathland House team who are determined to be the difference in senior care.
At Heathland House we treat people how we’d like them to treat our loved ones – like family. We understand everyone we look after has their own needs and preferences. So we create care plans which address everything from their individual care provision and dietary requirements to their favourite foods and hobbies. And with great food on the menu every day, each day is a new enjoyable experience.

What I do:
It is my job to make sure Heathland is full of happy thriving residents and staff. I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the home as well as giving the heads of departments the tools they need to do their jobs. I see good communication and keeping in touch with the residents and families, as well as the team crucial to the good running of a home. I advocate working in partnership with others and creating positive connections with external services.
My experience:
My experience over the last ten years has been as a Care Manager in the Dorset area. Over this time, I have developed two care services from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’ CQC rated homes. Most of my career she has been working with young adults with Autism, so I am no stranger to behaviours that challenge and hope to use those skills to support those with dementia to thrive in residential care. My previous role was as Registered Manager of the largest elderly care home in Dorset, and I look forward to blending my expertise in the quality of care with the luxury that Heathland House provides.
About me:
I live by the sea with my young family. We enjoy stomps in the forest, dancing in the living room and being creative. I am a very positive person and enjoy finding solutions to complex challenges. I love learning so I may not have the answer to everything, but I am willing to find out.

What I Do:
My name is Mary Stepin, I am the Deputy Manager at Heathland House. I started working at Heathland House in December 2022. I work very closely with the General Manager to ensure that Residents, their family members and our staff team are supported and that the service we provide is designed and delivered around the needs and wishes of the residents.
My Experience:
My career in Social Care started in 1984, as a Care Assistant in a residential home run by Dorset Council, transferring to the Borough of Poole with the implementation of the three Local Authorities. working in both Residential and Day service Provisions. I then moved to Germany in 1996 where I worked in the Army Medical Centre before returning home and joining a local Housing Association as the Registered Manager developing their Supported Living, Domiciliary Care and Extra Care services in the community.
About Me:
I am married with 5 children and 4 grandchildren. My passion is and always has been football, playing with my friends at the local rec and with the boys at school (girls weren’t allowed to play officially in those days). I managed several children’s teams when I lived in Germany, but now I watch the game from the terraces, I am a season ticket holder with AFC Bournemouth. I also enjoy spending time with my family and going to music concerts.

What I do:
I would love to welcome you for a visit at Heathland House, as part of my role is to help people find the right care and support in their later years and to help you through what can be a hard task, especially if you have not been in the position of caring for a loved one before or you do not know what is available.
My experience:
Having supported two of my own family members to find the right care for them in previous years and been involved in older persons housing for longer than I would like to mention, it would be a privilege to assist you in your search.
My past experience has also been within estate agency as well as residential care, which gives me insight to signpost you to advice and support.
About me:
Living close to Heathland House in the New Forest, I am able to enjoy all that this beautiful location has to offer and ably placed to share my knowledge with you.
