What do I do:
I am responsible for the welfare of our Apartment Owners and residents living at Emerson Grange within the setting of Emerson Park. As the senior staff member I am committed to improve the quality of life for all our residents through engagement, involvement and consultation.
Life at Emerson Park will reflect our values and commitment to our belief that life is for living, regardless of age. We want to be proud of the difference we make to our residents’ lives, and those of their families who entrust us with their care. We listen to our residents and their families. Everybody matters here and everyone counts.
I have been a General Manager in Nursing, Residential and Dementia Care for 16 years, prior to which I was General Manager of a London University but my background is in Hotel and Country Club Management which is where my attention to detail derives.
I am keen runner, enjoy music and spending time with my wonderful wife and our 4 children and grandchildren.
Resident Services Advisor
What I do:
As often the first point of contact at Emerson Park, I showcase our development and give an insight into the fantastic lifestyle we offer.
I understand that moving, whether downsizing to one of our apartments or into our care home, is a highly emotional experience and I support and guide our residents and their families through the process both offering advice and ensuring a smooth and timely move.
I joined Cinnamon with over a decade of experience in both corporate and independent residential estate agency managing various departments over the years from frontline Sales & Lettings through to Property Management.
I am a proud husband and father to a beautiful daughter and enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family both at home and abroad, sharing our love of travel. I am an avid sports fan and in my spare time can often be found on the cricket field, golf course or watching American Football.
What I do:
I am extremely delighted and honoured to be part of the pioneer team at Emerson Park working as the HR Administrator as it affords me the privilege to be part of its growth and success.
As the HR team member, I am responsible in ensuring the effective and efficient induction of employees, delivering the Cinnamon vales through dealing with diverse employee issues within my scope and maintaining an acceptable level of wellbeing amongst the team. Also, I contribute in fostering a positive and welcoming environment for residents, their relatives and friends.
I hold a first degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Human Resources. I have always worked in a customer facing role for over 20 years and have been in the Banking industry for the last 10 years where I have carried out various financial and administrative roles. I also have experience from working as a Human Resources assistant within the NHS.
In the last 9 months, have worked as the Home Administrator at Rectory Court where I have dealt with the Finance functions and tremendously enjoyed the dynamics of the HR functions hence my move to HR Administrator.
I have a passion for making a difference in people’s life’s. I volunteer at the Erith Food bank for over 3 years now and I spend free time coaching and mentoring young children as a Sunday school teacher in my local church.
My family is highly important to me. I have three wonderful teenage boys and a lovely husband, so always busy serving. I love meeting people, cooking and travelling.
Support Services Manager
What I do:
My responsibilities are supporting the Maintenance Manager to deliver problem resolutions in a timely manner, supporting the Housekeeping & Hospitality teams to deliver hotel style service standards and supporting Kitchen team to deliver the highest-level dining experience.
I’m a fully qualified JIB electrician having completed a five-year apprenticeship, I then joined Gala clubs formerly Granada as General Manager for 21 years, I then moved into the care sector as Maintenance Manager in 2008 and have worked for three care organisations prior to joining Cinnamon in January 2018 this has given me 30+ years of experience in this field.
I enjoy DIY and building and have fitted a new kitchen and bathrooms in my house in recent months, I’m married and have two great children a son of fifteen and we both enjoy football and a daughter who is a chef and also works in care, we all enjoy family days out and holidays abroad.
Housekeeping Supervisor (Emerson Park)
I have had 14 years of experience in Housekeeping industry and worked in luxury 5* serviced apartments, where I gain an excellent customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team. I am passionate to providing outstanding care and cleaning service for all residence to make home an amazing place to be.
I was born in Lithuania and can speak two additional languages; Lithuanian and Russian. I like spending time with my family, camping or just exploring nice and new places. Also cycling, going to the theatre and I enjoy traveling the world.
Deputy Care Services Manager
What Do I Do:
My roles are to support the care services manager in setting standard for providing outstanding care to the resident as well as supporting their families. To ensure the management of the home meets the essential standard of quality and safety as well as the company’s aims and objectives.
I have 18 years’ experience in working at different level of care settings as a nurse and carer in the UK and Netherlands. Providing care for the elderly living with dementia, enduring mental health issues and physical health gives me sense of satisfaction.
I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking and developing new recipe. I am calm, patient and a happy person whom enjoy working with the elderly and in a team which is committed to providing respectful and quality care within a safe environment. I can speak and understand two European languages.
What Do I do:
I’m in charge of the entire Culinary Experience at Emerson Park. I am passionate about the quality of produce, seasonality of food and emphasise on flavours and presentation. My brigade and I constantly work on new menus to produce something different everyday for our residents, guest and families
I started my career with Hyatt International Hotels as Apprentice Commis Chef and I have been cooking professional since the age of 19. I arrived in the UK in 2006 and had the opportunity to work for high end restaurants and Hotels and learnt the Skills and knowledge to produce an outstanding culinary experience.
I enjoy my time with my family, baking and always like to try new flavour combinations using the produce that are in season.
Events & Activities Manager
What do I do:
I am responsible for the events and activities area at Emerson Park. To move into a new home shouldn’t be an issue to continue practising your favourite hobbies or spending time doing what you love. My role at Emerson Park is to ensure that our activities program links our user’s preferences and their specific physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs. Under this vision, I understand activities and occupation as a powerful way to complement pharmacological therapies and promote health and wellbeing. Apart from making us enjoy and have fun, occupation is a powerful tool to maintain mobility, maximise our mental independence (decision making) and provide us with a sense of belonging.
I have a bachelor’s degree with honours in Educational Sciences and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology; both gained in my country of origin, Spain. From the beginning, my career has focused on exploring the benefits of educational methods in people living with dementia and mental health issues.
During the last decade, I have worked for several mental health organisations such as the Spanish NHS and ADANER (anorexia and bulimia association). During the last six years, I have focused my attention on the Care Home sector, especially in the areas of training and activities. During this time, I have managed the activities and training departments in several organisations such as “Four Seasons” and “Priory Group”.
Apart from my role at Emerson, I spend time collaborating with some universities in research projects (creative methods in education) and developing therapeutic and educational tools for the health and social care sector. Apart from this, since 2017 I collaborate with “The skills network” teaching Dementia Level 2 and 3 all around the UK.
I am passionate about teaching, art, nature and holistic medicine. Apart from this, I love spending time doing jogging and travelling all around the world looking for new experiences and ways of living. I love football and going out with my friends.
Care Services Manager
I was born and raised in Ghana and initially trained as a teacher. I taught in both secondary and primary schools in the UK for several years but decided to train as a nurse in memory of my late mother who was a nursing officer. Her passion to care for others especially the elderly was incomparable, this inspired me to train as a nurse.
I have been working as a registered nurse for the past 11 years. I worked with Oxleas NHS Trust and was part of the team which opened the Day Treatment Team. Though I was newly qualified within the team, my passion for care enabled me to excel to become the Well Being Clinic Lead where I championed the physical health needs of people with enduring mental health needs. My passion to care for others shone through my work and I was nominated for the nurse of the year award in 2009 within Oxleas NHS Trust.
I am passionate about elderly care and have been working in the care home sector for the past 4 years. To see smiles on the faces of the elderly people that I care for is what I enjoy about my work. I am pleasant, passionate, calm, peaceful and smiley person who pays attention to little things that makes a huge difference in the lives of the elderly people that I care for.
What I do:
My role within Emerson Park includes responsibility for all things finance related within the home and apartments including residents billing, petty cash, payroll and processing supplier invoices.
My previous roles have always been in either Accounts or Administration, I have over 20 years’ experience in those fields, but this is my first venture into the care industry and I’m looking forward to the new challenge.
A semi-retired runner, I enjoy spending time at the gym weight training, walking my dog or spending time with my two teenagers (whether they like it or not).
