General Manager
What do I do
My whole purpose is to ensure Cedar Mews remains a beautiful home that cares for all our residents, and their family and friends, some of whom are living with frailty, memory loss, loneliness and guilt. I don’t have the words to adequately express the joy that my team and I feel through meeting, caring and positively contributing towards individuals living well, being fulfilled and happy, both here at Cedar Mews and in our local community.
Experience
I trained as a General Nurse in 1981 in Nottingham’s Queens Medical Centre, then moved into social care where I have remained ever since. My experience ranges from working with children, older people with frailty, people with learning difficulties, people living with different types of dementia and supporting people who are at the end of their life. I take pride in leading teams, homes and companies. I’ve done it for 36 years without a break and I’ve loved every minute.
About me
Family means the world to me. I have three grown up sons who have flown my ‘mother hen nest.’ I’m married and live in West Bridgford. My Although I have had many years of professional, hands-on experience, nothing can compare with how I felt when my lovely mum and dad had difficulties in their later years through memory loss and suffering a stroke. My home passion is rescuing ill-treated animals, from dogs and cats to hens and fish.
